Through Rain, Snow, Sleet, or Hail, the Gallaudet National Contest Entries Pour In
Mother Nature surprised much of the Mid-Atlantic area with two record-breaking storms just at the time of the February 5 deadline for the Gallaudet National Essay, Art, and ASL Contest for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students. Though Gallaudet University and the Clerc Center were closed February 8-12 due to the blizzard, contest coordinator Timothy Worthylake and his assistants are now busy logging in all the entries. "We want to assure students and teachers that all entries will be recognized by the date sent and not the date of arrival," said Worthylake. "We’re still processing entries. As of February 22, we have received close to 500 submissions."
Best wishes to all our student contestants!
