Will October 7 be a Snowy Day at Your School?

For the third year in a row, the KPTA is sponsoring Kendall Demonstration Elementary School's (KDES) participation in Jumpstart's Read for the Record©. Read for the Record, presented in partnership with Pearson, is a world record breaking campaign that brings children and adults together to read the same book, on the same day, in homes and communities all over the world. The campaign also kicks off Jumpstart's yearlong program designed to prepare preschool children in low-income neighborhoods for success in school and life.

"Just by participating, we may be able to qualify to win credit for purchasing books for the KDES library," said KPTA president Eric S. Scott.  Become part of this giant read-a-thon; join along with an estimated 2.5 million children reading the same book on the same day!

Pledge to read a book today and read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats with us on October 7!
