Dr. Rush received her M.A. and Psy.D. degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Rosemead School of Psychology at Biola University in California. The topic of her doctoral dissertation was effective counseling styles with deaf individuals. She worked as Staff Psychologist at the Gallaudet University Counseling Center from 1988 to 1991. For the next four years she served as Supervisor of Counseling Services at the California School for the Deaf in Fremont where she provided both administrative and clinical supervision to counselors and interns. In 1995, Dr. Rush returned to Gallaudet University as the Director of University Counseling Center where she served until 2008. From 2008 through 2011, she served as the Associate Dean of Student Support Services, returning as director of the Mental Health Center in 2012.
