Summary of the Project
This program will inform and educate the campus community about sexual misconduct; train faculty and staff to provide programming; increase student awareness of policies, procedures, and comfort with reporting; and combat the prevalence of sexual misconduct on campus. Funding for this project allows Gallaudet to develop a coordinated community response to violence against women on campus by establishing a Sexual Assault Response Team (SART), which will include representatives of our supporting partners: the Gallaudet Office of the Dean of Student Affairs, Student Center Program and Services, Equal Opportunity Programs, Health and Wellness Programs, Department of Public Safety, Mental Health Center, Department of Psychology, General Studies Program, Campus Activities, Office of Student Conduct, Residence Life, Student Health Services, Athletics, and Jumpstart, as well as external partners: Deaf Abused Women's Network (DAWN) and the Deaf, Hard of Hearing Unit (DHHU) of the District of Columbia police.
Grants are integral to establishing "Gallaudet as the epicenter of research development and outreach leading to advancements in knowledge and practice for deaf and hard of hearing people and all humanity." A central component of Gallaudet University's mission is the enhancement of faculty and staff opportunities for creative and scholarly research and training. If you have a question about the grant writing process or if you have an idea or concept and would like to discuss potential grant opportunities, please contact Audrey Wineglass Foster at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to meeting and working with you.
