Your path to global citizenship: international studies major

The B.A. in international studies (IST) enables students to explore the connections among history, economics, politics, culture, society, and language--with a global perspective.

Through a flexibly-structured interdisciplinary program, students are prepared for careers in law, government, foreign service, the Peace Corps, and non-governmental organizations, and to pursue graduate work in the humanities, social sciences, international business, teaching, and human services.

In their junior year, students will apply their knowledge, foreign language, and cross-cultural skills gained in the classroom by interning at international organizations and agencies in the United States and/or abroad for at least 10 weeks.

IST is an interdisciplinary major housed in the Office of the Dean of CLAST, Dr. Isaac Agboola, HMB S242.  Co-directors of the new major are Dr. Cristi Berdichevsky and Dr. Roberto Sanchez.
