Relocation of Data Center equipment (phase 3 - postponed to December 11)
In an ongoing effort to improve the stability and redundancy of Gallaudet technology resources and services, Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) has plans to relocate equipment and reallocate resources within the EMG Data Center. As a result of these plans, there will be brief outages for specific services in the upcoming weeks. To help minimize the impact to the campus community, we are announcing the schedule for these plans and outlining the services to be impacted during each outage.

November 20 (Wednesday) between 7 and 8 a.m. —COMPLETED
SSL VPN and device registration equipment will be relocated. The following services will be impacted during this time:
- Users will not be able to use SSL VPN (remote.gallaudet.edu)
- Users will not be able to register or re-register their mobile devices
- Guests will not be able to access the Wi-Fi network
November 25 (Monday) between 7 and 8 a.m. —COMPLETED
GreatBay equipment will be relocated and there is no anticipated impact to the campus community.
December 11 (Wednesday) between 7 and 9 a.m. *postponed from December 4
Cisco Call Manager equipment will be relocated. The following services will be impacted during this time:*
- Cisco Emergency Response
- Voice Mail
- Call Manager
*During this period of work, inbound and outbound phone service -- including emergency 911 calls -- will continue to operate, but the voicemail system will off-line. Users will not be able to access existing voicemail and calls forwarded to the system directly or automatically (when a call is not answered) will fail with a busy tone.
