New summer 'Introduction to Research Course'
Sign up for a summer graduate/doctoral hybrid course with the ASL and Deaf Studies Department--ASL 760: "Connecting Sign Language Research to Practice," with Dr. Peter Hauser. This course introduces you to research specifically in sign language!
You will learn how to locate, review, and critically evaluate sign language-related research studies. You will be introduced to quantitative and qualitative research methodology and concepts including reliability and validity. Research ethics, particularly for sign language communities, will be explored. The course will be held online May 19-June 22, then on the Gallaudet campus July 14-25, Monday through Friday. You canpick either the morning (8:30 a.m.- 12:20 p.m.) or afternoon (1:30-5:20 p.m.) session.
