GTS automated software deployment procedure
Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) would like to refresh the campus community on the automated software deployment procedure for managed computers. For future reference, this information can also be found at http://www.gallaudet.edu/gts/help_desk/software_deployment.html.
For any default software applications that are already installed, updates will be tested during the week and then automatically deployed every Saturday between 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM. The only exception to this schedule would be for any patches or updates that are released by a company in response to serious security concerns or threats.
Although GTS strives to make the deployment process as seamless as possible, unexpected glitches and errors can occur at any given time. With that said, GTS strongly encourages that you save all open files and shut down all open programs prior to leaving campus daily.
For any major software updates or upgrades, as well as the installation of any new software program(s), GTS will make a Daily Digest announcement prior to deployment.
