Help Desk requests and email notifications
The Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) Help Desk provides a one-stop center for all technology service requests for Gallaudet University and Clerc Center students, teachers, faculty and staff. This should be your first stop to request support for computer services, classroom technology, media services, on-campus cable TV support and any other GTS technology services.
How to submit a new request
In order to submit a new Help Desk request, please go to helpdesk.gallaudet.edu and log in with your Gallaudet account. From there, you can create a new issue, update an existing issue, or review any closed issues under your account.
Alternatively, you can send an email to email@example.com, but only if the address is in the to: or bcc: fields. The Help Desk system will no longer accept emails sent with firstname.lastname@example.org in the cc: field. This change is being implemented in order to reduce the duplication of tickets and email notifications.
Recent Changes to the System
Email notifications for Help Desk tickets and surveys have been reduced. Now you will get a confirmation email for a new request and then an updated notification when your request has a pending-closed or closed status. Occasionally, you may receive additional emails requesting more information or to schedule an appointment. These will not be automated emails and are sent only when initiated by a Help Desk analyst or a technician.
Surveys will no longer be sent out for every closed ticket. Instead, surveys will be submitted based on new polling calculations and may be periodically adjusted to ensure adequate amounts of feedback are being gathered.
Help Desk requests and emails must be submitted using your Gallaudet account (email@example.com). Emails sent from department or functional accounts (firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com) will not be accepted in the Help Desk system. For those who are unable to submit a request using a Gallaudet account, please use the Campus Guest login or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org from a non-Gallaudet email account.
Last of all; please do not submit a new request for an issue that has already been submitted to the Help Desk. Submitting a duplicate request creates confusion and causes potential delays in processing your requests.
