Testing of the "Load Demand Response" system
Gallaudet University has partnered with our Electrical supplier Hess Energy Services and signed on to the 'Load Demand Response' program which requires the campus to commit to reducing electrical usage during times of peak demand when local power grids are under signficiant stress.
The engineers will execute a system test on Thursday, August 14.
Using the Emergency Broadcast Announcement system, you will receive a message asking you to please turn off all unnecessary electrical lights, office equipment, and appliances. Anything you can turn off will help.
Together we can make a difference while saving money on utility cost at the same time being a good neighbor to the local community.
