MSP Symbol and Motto

The MSP symbol means Unity through Diversity

Symbol Diversity

This "adinkra" is from West Africa. An adinkra is a symbol that represents an idea or a proverb. This symbol pictures two crocodiles that share one stomach. It implies the need for unity when there is a shared destiny. MSP has adopted this symbol as its logo because it conveys the spirit of our mission and programs.

MSP's Motto

"We are the only country in the world that has taken people from so many different backgrounds, which is a great achievement by itself, but an even greater achievement is that we have turned all of that variety and diversity into unity"
- Lamar Alexander
