Most recently she and Dr. LaShaun Williams in the Counseling Department started a new line of research with a group of undergraduate and graduate students on investigating the study skills and strategies used by students here at Gallaudet University.

After completing her degree she has had the opportunity to participate in two post doctorate fellowships. One shortly after completing her degree in 1985, in the Psychology Department at Gallaudet University and a later one in the Prevention Research Center at the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health. While at Shippensburg she was the founding director of their Women's Studies Minor.
