Kent Babson earned his M.A. in International Development from Gallaudet University. He reflects on his experiences while in the International Development program here:

My experiences of meeting and working with deaf people in China, Spain, and parts of Central America (Costa Rica, Panama, El Salvador and Guatemala) have opened my eyes to the challenges that a majority of deaf people worldwide face everyday. I've learned a lot in the program about development theory and models we can use in working overseas so that programs we develop for them are effective and sustainable. There's so much to learn about how to make the deaf population in less-developed and newly-industrialized countries improve and succeed in their own communities. I invite you to visit International Development at Gallaudet!

Kent's practicum was with the World Bank where he wrote a report on "Information and Communication Technologies for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Population" which is available upon request.  His internship was with the Center for International Programs and Services at Gallaudet where he directed and filmed a webinar for an international audience of three faculty experts teaching about early childhood education for deaf children.
