Rhea Kennedy has been teaching in the General Studies Program since 2011. She brings a broad writing background and almost a decade of community involvement to her work.
Ms. Kennedy has written in the fields of journalism, fundraising, and public relations, and also worked as a photographer and editor. She has published articles and essays in The Washington Post, Grist, Civil Eats, Elevation DC, The Jewish Daily Forward, and the anthology Whereabouts: Stepping out of place (2Leaf Press). She has served on the boards of the DC State Fair, the Crossroads Community Food Network, and Hillel at Gallaudet University.
Developing courses that combine academic skill development with the vibrant city of Washington, D.C. is one of Ms. Kennedy's favorite parts of teaching.
