Antoinette Allen is currently a clinical educator/supervising speech-language pathologist in Gallaudet University’s Hearing Speech and Language Sciences’ (HSLS) Hearing and Speech Center. She also serves as the department’s Continuing Education Administrator for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Ms. Allen received her B.A in Hearing and Speech Sciences, and her M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Maryland. She has been a member of Gallaudet University's HSLS department intermittently since 1988. Her interest in service provision for deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals developed from 1984-1987 when she worked with deaf and hard-of-hearing children in the Baltimore City Public School system. Ms. Allen has also provided speech-language pathology and aural rehabilitation services to children in Europe as a member of the Department of Defense Dependent Schools (DODDS). In addition, she has had the position of Clinical Supervisor/ Clinical Educator for graduate clinicians at both Gallaudet University and Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, Texas. Ms Allen has presented both locally and nationally on topics related to traditional service provision, aural rehabilitation and clinical supervision.
