Dr. Torres earned his Master degree from Gallaudet University in Deaf Education, his Bachelor degree from State University New York in Mathematics, and his Associate in Applied Science in Computer and Accounting. He is International Relations Specialist. Located in Washington D.C., Gallaudet University is the only liberal arts university in the world serving deaf students and professionals who work with them. Mr. Torres is an expert in international education, teaching, interpreting, logistic and multimedia - Photographer, editor, webmaster, videographer, and Web Graphic Designer.
He has taught American Sign Language, English, Mathematics and Cross Culture Communication for international students in English Institute Language at Gallaudet University. Also, He had taught ASL classes to hearing adults, students and children since 1994 at several college communities, Community Education classes, a private school, the Lexington school for the Deaf, and Institutes throughout the area in New York City area. He has a strong background in Mexican, Colombian, Other Spanish and American Deaf Culture and Languages as well as he had worked with Deaf international students with minimal language skill in American Sign Language.
He currently works with President, director of International Relations, vice-president of Development, director of Alumni Relations, and Manager of Web Authoring to advocate for access to higher education for deaf students worldwide and his role is to work with relationship-partnership building between Gallaudet University and UDELAS in Panama for Deaf Latin America students.
He currently is the president of the Latino Deaf and Hard of Hearing Association of the Metropolitan DC area (LDHHAMDC) and founder of the "Sordos de Colombia" (Deaf Colombia) website and Facebook.
