SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Val began her career in the Library when she was a college student. She worked for the MSSD library and the Gallaudet University Library as a circulation assistant part-time for several years. Shortly after graduation, she worked full-time at KDES for the World Around You, a deaf youth magazine, as Circulation Manager Assistant. Since she joined the Gallaudet University Library staff full-time in 1985, she has worked for the Collection Management Department. She ordered and collected library periodicals, both general and deaf-related, modified periodical holdings, and assisted with projections for periodical expenditures. In 2007, she changed her job to Acquisitions Technician where she focuses on ordering books, including Deaf-related materials.
