Educational Assistance Benefits for Faculty/Staff
Educational Assistance
This benefit is for university employees to pursue their educational opportunities. Please see the A&O Manual, 3.13 Educational Assistance, for the specific policy and criteria for eligibility.
Current Benefit:
- Career Cap is $49,720
- Academic Year Limit is $12,430
- An Educational Assistance form (intranet) must be filled out, signed by your supervisor, and have attached a copy of the class schedule and bill. (Employees can apply for an advance before classes begin or apply for a reimbursement after the classes are completed.) The form and attachments should be forwarded to the Finance Office, College Hall Room 108.
- Grades are due to the Finance Office as soon as possible, but no later than 30 days after completion of the classes.

Tuition Assistance
This benefit is for university employees’ spouse/registered domestic partner and their dependent children to pursue their educational opportunities. Please see the A&O Manual, 3.15 Tuition Assistance For Employees Family, for the specific policy and criteria for eligibility.
Current Benefit:
- Career Cap is $49,720 (This amount is to be shared by the spouse/domestic partner and children.)
- Academic Year Limit is $12,430
- A Tuition Assistance form (intranet) must be filled out and have attached a copy of the class schedule and bill. (Employees can apply for an advance before classes begin or apply for a reimbursement after the classes are completed. The form and attachments should be forwarded to the Finance Office, College Hall 108.

Tuition Waiver
This benefit is for university employees and for their dependent children, spouses or registered domestic partners to pursue their educational opportunities at Gallaudet University. Please see the A&O Manual, 3.14 Tuition Waiver, for the specific policy and criteria for eligibility.
Current Benefit:
- No monetary career cap or academic year cap.
- Waivers are for both undergraduate and graduate classes.
- There are timelines announced each semester to submit tuition waivers (September - Fall, January - Spring, and May - Summer). • Student Financial Services (SFS) automatically receive grades at the completion of the classes. If you did not receive a satisfactory grade according to the policy, your tuition waiver will be charged back to your student account for the funds you owe the university.
- A Tuition Wavier form (intranet) must be filled out, approved by your supervisor and the Registrar’s Office, and a list of classes attached before it can be accepted and processed. Forms should be sent to the Student Financial Services Office, College Hall B06.
