DeafBlind Paraprofessional Program

The DeafBlind Paraprofessional (DBPP) Program supported by Gallaudet Interpreting Service is a resource available to students, faculty, staff, and visitors who are DeafBlind.  DBPPs are a paraprofessional pool of qualified students trained to provide access services for non-academic events on campus.  Non-academic events may include:

  • University-sponsored events
  • sports
  • student organization-sponsored events
  • informal social/educational workshops

DBPP services include: 

  • communication facilitation in non-academic settings 
  • guiding services
  • translation of printed materials such as fliers around campus
