Diagnostic Services

Are you interested in enhancing your interpreting skills but are unsure of what is needed and where to begin? Are you looking for guidance and specific feedback on how to improve? Are you considering taking the RID/NAD exam but want some feedback before you do?

GIS is now offering in-house diagnostic services to interpreters in the Washington metropolitan area. Services will be offered, by appointment, during the months of January, June-August and December.

GIS will provide interpreters with a diagnostic skills assessment to identify target areas for skill development and enhancement. GIS can prioritize skill development goals and suggest specific activities for the interpreter to work on which will address these goals.

Sessions will consist of one hour in a lab setting with videotape material, followed by a second hour of personal feedback. The charge for this service will be $150. Those who would like a detailed written report of the diagnostic assessment will be charged $250 (includes the lab, personal assessment, and detailed written assessment).
