As the Gallaudet Staff Council (GSC), we help make the University a better place for everyone to work. We advise the President on matters affecting the staff community, and we consider and propose ideas for improving the general welfare of staff employees.
Representatives are elected through their divisions and are committed to attending monthly meetings, weekly check-in meetings and to serve on one of our working committees.
Our representatives also serve on institutional committees, including the University Council, that influence university decision making. GSC often has the opportunity to review and provide input on policies and procedures that pertain to or impact staff. We participate in the dispute resolution process by serving on a panel which hears staff grievances and reports to the president.
