Electronic Mailing List

An electronic mailing list is a communication tool to send information to a group of individuals without knowing their e-mail addresses. Electronic mailing lists can be used for many different purposes, including, but not limited to, the following:
  • Announcements (Examples: Daily Digest, Gallaudet Alerts)
  • Discussions (Examples: Course, Class assignments, or Organizations)

Mailing lists have features, including the following:

  • Archiving (Collection of past messages)
  • Moderation (Ability to approve specific messages before distribution)

Please contact the Help Desk to request for electronic mailing list. Requests must include a name of a contact person.

Electronic mailing list users are expected to abide by all university policies for use of computer resources, and those specific to email as well. The contact person is responsible for all activity on the electronic mailing list.
