Urgent Message (8-22-2013)
URGENT MESSAGE 8-22-2013
From the Gallaudet Research Institute
To Small Research Grantees, FY 13
IMPORTANT: DEADLINES FOR USE OF YOUR RESEARCH FUNDS:
The university is in a budget freeze. Yet we are trying to honor the commitment made to you of support for your research study. However, we must ask your attention and cooperation as follows:
- Please reply to this email and inform us if you intend to spend any more funds on your research grant. If not, then send a simple "no" response.
- If you do intend to spend funds, then give a rough estimate of the amount. Or simply say "subject payments" or other items from your budget.
- Your award letter stated that the funds are for use during the current fiscal year that ends on September 30th. Documentation for all expenditures should be submitted by September 7 at the latest. Because of the University's budget freeze, expenses submitted after this deadline will not be covered. (If this is a true problem, contact us to discuss.)
- If we receive a written, justified request from you , we will approve requests to allow a "no cost extension" of your award so that you may proceed in the next fiscal year. However, we need to receive and to approve this prior to September 7.
Again, please understand that your grant ends in September 2013 unless explicit approval is granted. If you do not seek our approval before the end of the fiscal year, we will not provide you funds in the upcoming year.
The point of contact for this matter is <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
Thank you for your understanding.
