Certificate in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Infants, Toddlers and their Families: Collaboration and Leadership


  • A non-refundable application fee of $75.
  • A completed graduate certificate application form.
  • A minimum 3.0 grade point average (on a four-point scale) in all previous undergraduate and graduate study. (Occasionally, applicants with a GPA lower than 3.0 may be admitted conditionally upon the recommendation of the department.).
  • Official transcripts of all undergraduate study, including evidence of having received a bachelor's degree from an accredited university. (Those applying during their final undergraduate year will be required to submit a final transcript after completion of their bachelor's degree and before enrolling in their first semester of graduate study.)
  • Official transcripts of all graduate study.
  • International applicants should review this page on how to submit their transcript(s).
  • TOEFL is required from all international applicants from non-English speaking countries. (Use 5240 for the ETS institutional code)
  • If you are offered admission: The immunization laws for the District of Columbia require all students to provide proof of immunization prior to enrolling. Please visit the Student Health Services website for more information.

Additional Program Requirements

  • Evidence of professional program, certificate, or license held or in process of obtaining OR evidence of current or prospective employment related to deaf and hard of hearing infants, toddlers and families. 
  • In lieu of the goal statements, applicants must attach a one page written essay (or 10 minute signed video) to their application that discusses why they are interested in obtaining a certificate focused on deaf and hard of hearing infants, toddlers and their families.
  • One letter of recommendation.
