Functional E-mail Accounts
A functional e-mail account is defined as an e-mail account created for and used by an entity, rather than an individual. Example of functional e-mail accounts include email@example.com.
Functional e-mail accounts is useful when more than one person needs access to an e-mail account. For instance, firstname.lastname@example.org is monitored by several employees in that department’s office, all of whom respond to email inquiries.
Please contact the Help Desk to request for functional e-mail accounts. Requests must include a justification and the name of a contact person.
Functional e-mail account users are expected to abide by all university policies for use of computer resources, and those specific to email as well. The contact person is responsible for all activity on the account.
