Video Editing and DVD Creation Systems
Gallaudet Technology Services (GTS) offers you a technology solution where you can transfer your videos from a VHS or MiniDV tape to a more usable DVD. You also can transfer video from VHS, MiniDV and DVD to a computer for editing and uploading to Bb for your coursework.
GTS offers three stations for your use, a stand-alone DVD creation cart, a Windows PC setup and a Mac OSX setup. The stand-alone DVD creation cart is a simple system where you can make a direct copy from one video source to another, verbatim. It does not require any editing or computer work.
A Windows PC setup have a Microsoft Windows computer hooked up to two video players that provide input options from one of the following: MiniDV, DVD, and VHS. You can use Windows Movie Maker on this machine to capture, edit, and export your video for your coursework.
A Mac OSX setup is similar to the Windows PC setup except that this one uses a Mac. With this computer, you can use iMovie to do your video work.
GTS also have a DVD Duplication machine where you can make multiple copies of your original DVD instantaneously.
This solution is offered to you as a self service and if you need to use these equipment, come to eLearning Lab in the lower level of the Library, MLC B205.
