As a member of the National Consortium of Interpreter Education Centers since 2005, GURIEC has been dedicated to advancing the field of interpreter education and increasing the number of qualified interpreters in the United States.

Underserved Interpreters Initiative:

two minds exchanging information

Launched in Fall 2012, the Underserved Mentor Project serves mentors and mentees living within the GURIEC 14 state region, geared toward people who are members of an ethnic and/or cultural minority, or living in a rural area. Preference was given to one mentor/one mentee per state. Applications are closed, but the work is ongoing!
