Geoff Whitebread
Short Biography

Geoff Whitebread began working in the Honors Program in 2004. Mr. Whitebread's responsibilities include managing Honors admissions, new student orientation, assessment, student development activities, Honors news and announcements, and student workers.  Mr. Whitebread also teaches a variety of Honors courses, including first year seminar and Capstone courses.

Mr. Whitebread has offered capstone proposal courses more than fifteen times in his teaching career. This experience allows him to tailor each student's Honors Capstone experience to their goals. Mr. Whitebread advises students on how to structure their proposals, structure their methods/approach to the project, and their goals after graduation. Mr. Whitebread has helped students and professors develop projects in such diverse fields as Chemistry, Biology, Education, English, Creative Writing, Interpreting, American Sign Language, Deaf Studies, History, Government, Sociology, Theater, Psychology, and Linguistics. Students are encouraged to publish their projects or use their projects in their future endeavors.

Geoff Whitebread graduated with an Honors undergraduate degree in 2004.  His Honors thesis is a widely-read thesis on the possibility of stuttering in American Sign Language, and his research on in this area is still ongoing. Mr. Whitebread is currently a Ph.D. candidate in the department of Political Science at The George Washington University with a concentration in statistical methods. Mr. Whitebread graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in 2004 and a Masters in Linguistics in 2006.
