Help us preserve Deaf History, Culture, and Heritage. Donate your things to the Gallaudet University Archives.

The Archives collects everything related to Gallaudet University, Deaf lives, Deaf people, Deaf organizations, and Deaf schools. This includes documents such as periodicals, reports, manuscripts, financial records, artwork, artifacts such as pagers, TTYs, vibrating alarm clocks, films and videotapes, photographs and photograph albums, slides and negatives, books, and Deaf publications.

In doubt? Contact the Archives for further information and assistance. Patrons are always welcome to stop by the Archives in room B125 on the lower level of the Merrill Learning Center at Gallaudet University to deliver donations in person.

You may also mail your donations to:
Gallaudet University Archives
800 Florida Avenue, N.E.
Washington, D.C. 20002-3695

On a case-by-case basis we also store papers for Deaf organizations who do not have their own archival storage space available. It is our first and foremost mission to preserve Deaf History and Heritage.
Providing physical space and intellectual control of archival collections is expensive. Donors who are able to do so are encouraged to provide financial support for the arrangement, description, and preservation of their papers and records.
