Our Mission
The Mental Health Center's (MHC's) mission of service, training, and advocacy focuses on the mental health needs of Gallaudet students and the deaf community.
We support the academic and social-emotional development of Gallaudet students by providing high quality assessment, counseling, crisis intervention, and prevention programs. We also provide consultation services for faculty and staff and contribute to the student paraprofessional training programs.
The MHC also maintains a high quality training program that works to increase the number of qualified professionals serving the mental health needs of the Deaf community. Through education and information dissemination, the MHC advocates for improved mental health services for deaf and hard of hearing people. Contact us and see how we can be of help.
