|Visual Shakespeare comes alive; three presenters share their perspectives on visually translating Shakespeare|
On October 13, 2016, three proclaimed presenters came to Gallaudet and participated in the First Folio! lecture series activities by explaining the visual nature of Shakespeare's works and offering different perspectives.

|“Titus Andronicus” to be translated by Howie Seago and students into ASL during First Folio! month|
Howie Seago, current William H. and Ruth Crane Schaefer Distinguished Faculty who is teaching in the theater program during the 2016 fall semester, is working with students to translate William Shakespeare's "Titus Andronicus" into ASL. Their work will be showcased on Saturday, October 15, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at JSAC 1011 as part of the First Folio! Month activities.

Abenchuchan will be covering the installation with Thinaja Nadarajah (Mississauga, Ontario), who will represent Gallaudet's student body.

|New deaf and deaf-blind retirement community opens; Gallaudet alumna on Board of Directors|
Alder Springs Deaf & Blind Community, a private non-profit independent-living retirement community, has recently opened its first phase in Morganton, North Carolina. Barbara Palmento, '72, serves on the board of directors, and documented the phases of construction and opening of the facility on YouTube and other social media.
