Online Teaching Workshops
Faculty/Staff Registration for Quality Matters & Online Learning Consortium Online Workshops
Gallaudet University has purchased a yearly College Pass Membership that entitles GU Faculty, adjuncts and staff to participate without charge in online workshops sponsored by Quality Matters and Online Learning Consortium (formerly Sloan-C). Most online workshops are 10-days to 3-weeks long and have a cap of 50 participants.
Quality Matters (QM): Online/hybrid Faculty, and adjuncts are required to take the 2-week online Applying the Quality Matters Rubric workshop. The dates for the required Quality Matters workshop are posted at the QM course calendar. Do not register directly through Quality Matters. Sign up below for the course and date you want.
Online Learning Consortium (OLC): Current OLC workshops titles and descriptions can be found here. Do not register directly through OLC. Sign up below.
The Office of Distance Education (ODE) will be managing Quality Matters & OLC registration. So be sure to register below instead of through those organizations. Once faculty have registered through ODE, they will receive confirmation from Quality Matters & OLC of enrollment and instructions on how to proceed. In filling out the registration form, please be sure to indicate the dates for each potential workshop since many offer multiple session dates. The OLC Online Teaching Certificate program is not available through Gallaudet University, but anyone can register for it on their own.
ODE will do its best to expedite your registration, but please be aware that Quality Matters & OLC controls registration and sets its own enrollment caps. Therefore, it is not possible for ODE to ensure your enrollment in a particular workshop.
