Academic Bowl

 

National competition for deaf and hard of hearing high school students.

90 teams from deaf schools and mainstream programs compete for the coveted national championship trophy. The 2013-2014 Regional competitions will take place in Michigan, Georgia, California, New York, and Texas. Registration day for teams is on Tuesday, September 17th, 2013. Gallaudet's Battle of the Books

 

National competition for deaf and hard of hearing middle school students (5th through 8th grades).

Teams from deaf schools and mainstream programs compete in three different reading groups (Buff, Blue, and Green). The 2013-2014 preliminary competition will take place in January 2014 and the national competition will be held in May 2014. Registration day for teams is on Wednesday, September 4th, 2013. Immerse into ASL

 

Summer camp for deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing students who will be in the 10th through 12th grades.

 This camp is a great opportunity for deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing high school students to learn ASL or expand their ASL skills. Three different course levels are offered:ASL 1, ASL 2, and ASL 3. More information can be found at the Immerse into ASL webpage.

 

Discover Your Future

 

Summer camp for deaf and hard of hearing students who will be in the9th through 12th grades.

  This camp is designed for deaf and hard of hearing students who want to learn more about themselves, their skills, and potential careers. Students will also explore what vibrant Washington, D.C. has to offer. More information can be found at the Discover Your Future webpage.

 

Young Scholars Program

 

Summer camps for deaf and hard of hearing students who will be in the 9th through 12th grades.

For the summer of 2013, students who will be in the 9th through 12th grades can explore chemistry, genetics, and underwater robotics during the Exploring the Sciences camp fromJuly 9 to 17. More information can be found at the YSP webpage.
