Room Lottery for All Students

If you are unable to find a roommate and wish to have a random roommate assigned to you, you can choose the Waiting List option.  Undergraduate and ELI students will be assigned to Ballard West, Carlin Hall, or Peet Hall, depending on availability.  Graduate students will be assigned to the graduate community in Carlin Hall, depending on availability as well.


  • Complete the Course Registration, Housing Application, and Lottery Application online by Sunday, April 22, 2018;
  • You will receive an e-mail notification from the Housing Operations Manager with your room assignment and roommate information on Monday, April 30, 2018; and
  • You will need to choose a meal plan by Saturday, June 30 after your room assignment is posted.


Students who have not participated in the Room Lottery process or missed the application deadline will be placed on the waiting list. The Housing Operations Manager reserves the right to assign students to vacant spaces.

Students who cancel the room assignment AFTER choosing their rooms will automatically be charged the $500.00 cancellation fee.
