Dr. Alim Chandani was born Deaf in Mumbai, India. Dr. Chandani
subsequently graduated with a Bachelor's degree from the Rochester
Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, obtained a Master's
degree in Deaf Rehabilitation/Higher Education from New York University
in New York, New York, and, ultimately, obtained his Doctorate in
Administration and Supervision in Special Education from Gallaudet
University in Washington, D.C. in 2013.
Currently, he coordinates the Peer Mentorship program under Student
Success/ First Year Experience (FYE) at Gallaudet University. He also
lectures on leadership and social entrepreneurship initiatives for students.
He loves to travel around the world. He has been to over 40 countries. He
volunteered his time aboard by educating and empowering the Deaf Youth
internationally. He enjoys providing advices and travel tips to students,
especially for their upcoming breaks.
Also, he loves to watch TV shows and movies, especially Bollywood
movies. He enjoys trying new recipes and loves to go biking and hiking.
