Dr. Marlon Kuntze has been involved with the Education of the Deaf since 1981 when he started teaching high school English at the California School for the Deaf at Fremont and obtaining a master's degree in Deaf Education at the Western Oregon University's School of Education.
In 1990, he became involved with the bilingual-bicultural movement and as a result of his involvement, he decided to study language, literacy, and cognitive development at Stanford University's School of Education. After obtaining his doctorate from Stanford, he was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of California at Berkeley's Department of Psychology.
Prior to coming to Gallaudet, he taught at Boston University's School of Education.
