Visitor Housing is available to those who wish to stay in one of the six residence halls on Gallaudet University's campus. This option is relatively cheaper than surrounding hotels and provides you with the opportunity to experience Gallaudet University's vibrant, rich and diverse culture. Residing on campus allows you with the opportunity to be close to your loved ones already residing on or around campus, easily participate in or observe events on or around campus, or give you a taste of what dorm life is all about.
Visitors will be assigned to suites/rooms in one of the six residence halls. In each suite/room there are 2 to 4 twin-sized beds, desks, chairs, closets, dressers, and night stands. We do not provide microwaves, refrigerators, hangers, hair dryers, irons or ironing boards. TVs are available for use in the lobby areas.
Visitor Housing rates are $33 per person, per night for the first person and $13 per night for an extra person. There is a one-time fee of $13 for linens, which is optional. A set of linens includes a blanket, pillow, pillowcase, two flat sheets, and a large bath towel. We reserve the right to change our prices at any time.
Availability is is determined on a first-come, first-serve basis. Once Visitor Housing receives your registration form, availability will be determined; visitors will then be contacted with more information. If we do have availability, further instructions regarding payments will be provided.
We accept debit/credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover), money orders and cash (in person only). If you prefer to pay with a money order or cash, payments must be received prior to retrieving housing assignments. Once we receive your payment, we will be able to move forward with your reservation.
Visitor Housing strives to accommodate those who need special accommodations for medical/disability reasons. Please be sure to inform us what types of needs are needed. This includes, but is not limited to: suites with a bathtub, wheelchair accessibility, shower rails, and lower floors. Once we are aware of any special accommodations, we will do our best to ensure these needs are met.
