Short Biography

Born and raised in Wadesboro, North Carolina with an oral educational background until the age of 10, Usherla learned sign language when she enrolled at the Delaware School for the Deaf. She attended the Model Secondary School for the Deaf, Gallaudet University, and Wilmington University.

She has a goal of knowing everyone's name on campus rather than her residence hall as she values the importance of networking. The best part of her job as a CRE is the 20-second commute.

In her spare time, she enjoys reading books that apply to life and children's books, enjoys spending time with her daughter, Kai, being a soccer mom, cooking and eating various types of food.
