Alumna creates a new future for early intervention and deaf education in Mongolia

For two long years, Namiraa Baljinnyam of Mongolia remained hospitalized as doctors tried to restore her hearing which she had lost after contracting spinal meningitis. By 14 years old, it was evident that it would never be regained, and so her parents' enrolled her in Number 29, the only school for the deaf in the entire country.

IRB Ensures Rights of Human Subjects in Research Studies

Protecting the rights and safety of human subjects who participate in research studies conducted by Gallaudet faculty, staff, and students are primary responsibilities of the Institutional Review Board (IRB). Gallaudet requires everyone conducting research, on or off campus, involving human subjects to apply for approval from the IRB.

2014-2015 Priority Research Fund Grant Awardees

The Priority Research Fund program is a $35,000 award paid by The Research Support & International Affairs to assist faculty and staff with expenses associated with research necessary to prepare for external funding when the Priority Research Fund expired.

Call For Nominations for The Rachel Hartig Award for Research Excellence

The Rachel Hartig Award goes to a researcher in the field of International Deaf Cultural Studies with preference given to work related to Francophone areas and Hispanic Deaf Studies. The John S. and Betty J. Schuchman Award encourages research on the lives and experiences of deaf people and their communities.
