Sasakawa International Scholarship
Name: Adeoye Oyeniyi
Field of Study: Administration & Supervision
My name is Adeoye Oyedokun Oyeniyi. I was born in Lagos, the former Capital of Nigeria. It has been a love long desire to attend this famous institution of learning for the deaf and hard of hearing (The Gallaudet University). However, this lofty dream of coming to Gallaudet University was ultimately made possible by the Almighty God using the resources provided by the Lagos State Scholarship Board that awarded me a scholarship.
It is my long-term dream to establish a deaf institution in Nigeria, where strategic policies and opinions that will be germane to lives of the deaf will be canvassed and implemented. I would also like to be a leader in the education segment of the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria. This will enable me to contribute significantly to the general uplifting of the lives of persons with disability in general.
Having seen that there is a loophole in the orientation and training of education personnel in Nigeria as a whole, I want to be a vehicle of change and a new dawn through the constant organization of management training, in-service training programs, workshops, symposiums, and seminars.
