Academics

Overview

Through our nationally accredited social work program, we empower students to embrace diversity by providing deaf, hard of hearing, and hearing students alike a quality education in social work. Graduates leave Gallaudet equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to work with individuals, families, groups, organizations, and communities throughout the world.

High-quality internships ensure students develop into professionally licensed social workers at both the Bachelor’s and Master’s levels. Upon graduation, social work majors often move directly into careers in case management, child and youth services, community advocacy, substance abuse counseling, and vocational rehabilitation among many others.
