English Coaches meet with students to provide feedback on academic and business writing, for one time appointments or on-going basis. They must have superior knowledge of the writing process and different kinds of academic writing such as essays, summaries and research papers.

Job Responsibilities
• Assess compositions' strengths and weaknesses
• Provide assistance in helping students get started on assignments
• Provide reading support
• Suggest changes in the area of grammar, clarity or organization
• Capable of working independently
• Demonstrate punctuality and reliability
• Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills
• Document reports onto Starfish
• Participate in meetings/training
• Take CRLA 1/Regular Tutor training within a month of hiring

Prerequisites for Employment
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Good signing and receptive skills
• Have B or higher in grade in course(s) to be tutored
