Campus Housing

Living on Campus
With no time spent on commuting or preparing meals, many students opt to live on campus and use that time to study, work part-time, and participate in extracurricular activities. Living on campus provides more social and learning opportunities; flexible study schedules; and convenient access to Gallaudet's library, computer labs and Washington, D.C. Free TV cable and wired/wireless Internet access in each room are also a plus.

The residence hall staff works together with residents to provide a sense of community through educational and recreational programs and living arrangements.

The University campus has a house and six residence halls which are locked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and require the resident's access card for entry. Each building has vending machines and laundry facilities in the basement for residents' use. Laundry cards for washers and dryers, both of which are card and coin operated, are available for purchase at a laundry card kiosk near the campus Post Office. Each load costs $1.50.

All rooms are wired for computer and cable TV hookup. Approximate dimensions for a typical room in each building are indicated in the link above for residence halls.
