Apply as a Hearing Undergraduate Student

Before beginning the application process, take a look at the information below as a guide to preparing and completing your application. Feel free to contact your admissions counselor if you have any questions!

Before you apply

When you apply

  • Submit an Application
    • Apply Online
    • Print an application
  • Pay the $50 Application fee
  • Submit two essays
  • Send two letters of recommendation
  • Request that your high school or/and college transcript(s) be sent to Gallaudet University
  • Submit your ACT or SAT scores (with Writing)

After You are Admitted:

Step One

  • Look for your acceptance packet in the mail
  • Mail a sealed official & final high school (and/or college) transcript
    1. School seal
    2. Official's signature
    3. Final GPA
    4. Graduation date
    5. Type of diploma (standard, regular, honors, local, regents, etc)
  • Set up your BISON account
  • Submit your Intent to Enroll (ITE) form and enrollment fee of $100 (via E-Forms )
  • Submit your Housing Contract and deposit of $200 (via E-Forms )
  • Submit your New Student Orientation (NSO) fee of $100 (via E-Forms )
  • Submit a completed Medical History form

Step Two

  • Take the required placement test(s) online
  • Fill out a student checklist for your Academic Advisor
  • Complete your Institutional Financial Aid Application (IFAA) by July 1, 2014

Step Three

  • Check with your Academic Advisor to make sure your classes are registered
