The Department of Business is accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. The major in business administration will prepare you for entry-level management positions in either the private or public sector. In this major, you will study a broad spectrum of topics rather than focusing on a narrow specialization. You will take a sequence of courses that cover all of the business fields: accounting, finance, management, marketing, business law, and strategy and policy. You'll learn how the different areas of a business function together, and how to make all these areas run together as smoothly as possible. You will delve into issues such as diversity, ethics, politics, and other dynamics that play a role in every work environment.

As a major in this Department, you will be given the opportunity to help manage a hands-on investment through the University's Student Managed Stock Fund. Starting with $50,000 from the University's endowment, you can select your own stocks based on sound financial principles and then help manage this investment portfolio for the University.
