Storm Smith is known as a visionary storyteller through her work. Storm didn't limit herself to only films, but rather expanded her horizons by producing and directing a variety of music videos, sports promotional videos, commercials (including for ABC Family Switched at Birth), and excusive interviews. Through her work, she pioneered the new approach: to authentically and visually connect to the audience, especially Deaf and hard of hearing audience.
In September 2014, Storm received a prestigious award from the city of Los Angeles, presented by the city mayor and councilman for her contribution to the community. Her background is in psychology, marketing, film and digital media. Storm holds a degree in Psychology from Gallaudet University and will receive a Master's degree in Media Entrepreneurship at American University in May 2016.
Storm is a motivational speaker across the nation. She gave presentations regarding theories in her film work in the past at Harvard University, UCLA, Boston University CSUN and many more to come. She also teaches workshops and leads a seminar on how to edit videos using Final Cut Pro and other techniques and perspective on marketing while working as a Video Producer/Director for University Communications at Gallaudet University.
Aside from living her dreams and making her passions a reality, she wants to continue being a role model for all members of the Deaf community, particularly for Deaf people of color, and to lead as an example for the hearing community as well.
