Teresa has been with Gallaudet University over 25 years in communications and marketing. As program coordinator with Video Services under University Communications, Teresa plans and coordinates video productions and edits marketing videos geared towards prospective deaf and hard of hearing high school students and their parents. Previously with Enrollment Marketing unit that won over 100 awards, she served as writer and editor of various recruitment materials, including the Gallaudet LINK featuring Gallaudet students with internship experiences.
Upon graduation from Gallaudet with a degree in English, Teresa traveled extensively for the University's Office of Admissions as a recruiter before joining the Peace Corps. Volunteering in the Philippines, she worked at the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports in the Special Education Division to implement a national journal for special education professionals and taught sign language to parents of deaf children at a local school.
After her two-year Peace Corps stint, Teresa returned to the Gallaudet campus to work at the Visitors Center where she conducted campus tours for the public, deaf awareness sessions to visiting elementary and high schools students and Deaf Culture and cross-cultural training for sign language classes before working with the Office of Enrollment Marketing and University Communications.
