Mary Dakim
Short Biography

Ms. Mary Dakim was born and raised in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria. In 2007, Ms. Dakim completed her undergraduate studies, earning a bachelor's degree of science and a bachelor's degree of arts respectively in Economics and Finance and Elementary Education from Gallaudet University. She was an elementary school teacher for three years in Nigeria.  She was also trained in teaching English as a Second Language and received a TESOL certificate in 2010. In May, 2011, she earned her master's degree in International Development at Gallaudet University. Her interests are advocating education as a key to reducing poverty and being a resource for people with disabilities, especially girls and women affected by war, inequality, and social stigma.
