Tissa Peiris
Short Biography

Mr. Tissa Peiris moved from Sri Lanka to Switzerland and then the United States. He has been exposed to Eastern and Western cultures since 1987.  He visited many countries in Europe, Asia, and North America.  In 1997 he graduated from Gallaudet University with a bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and Deaf Studies. From 2005 to 2007, he taught ASL and Visual Gestural Communication to Japanese ASL Signers Society in Japan.  As of 2013, he is a graduate student in the master's degree program in Sign Language Teaching in the Department of American Sign Language and Deaf Studies at Gallaudet University.  His hobbies are walking, camping, participating in other outdoor activities, reading novels, and telling humorous Deaf stories in ASL.
