Victor Cornejo
Short Biography

Mr. Victor J. Cornejo was born deaf in Lima, Peru. In 2001, he began studying in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Ricardo Palma University in Peru.  He studied for five semesters, and then withdrew because he could not read the teachers' lips.  Peru does not provide interpreters or direct instruction in a sign language for college classes, so he decided to apply to Gallaudet University and got accepted in Spring, 2005. Since English is not his first language, he attended the English Language Institute first.  In Spring, 2011, he graduated from Gallaudet University with a bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Accounting.  He has been teaching mathematics at the English Language Institute since Spring, 2012.  His interests are billiards, soccer, exercise, traveling, and going to the beach.
